Having a healthy baby is worth your weight!

All mothers want to have healthy babies born with a healthy weight. A healthy baby starts with a healthy pregnancy and a healthy weight gain for the mom-to-be. Eating nutritious foods and gaining the proper amount of weight for you is a great start to lowering your risk of having a low birth weight baby.

If you are a mom-to-be and you find it hard to buy what you need with the money you have, please take a few minutes to answer the questions below and learn if you may be at risk for delivering a low birth weight baby.

A low birth weight baby is a baby born weighing less than 5.5 pounds or 2500 grams.

Low birth weight babies are not just small babies. They can have serious health problems at birth and for the rest of their lives.

These problems can affect the baby’s heart, lungs, and brain, as well as their behaviour and school performance as they grow older.
